There is a diocesan tournament at the end of the season for the 4-6 grade (new) and 7-8 grade soccer leagues. Practices can start in late February. The registration fee is $75 per participant.
Girls Volleyball
This is a Saint Rose team sport where we will play other Catholic School teams in a diocesan league open to 5-6 grade girls. Games are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The season will begin in late March and end in early May with a new 5-6 diocesan tournament. Practices can start in late February. The registration fee is $85 per participant.
Coed Flag Football
This is a diocesan sport for all boys and girls divided into two divisions, one for 1-2 graders and the other for 3-4 graders. The 1-2 grade teams will play 5v5 and the 3-4 grade teams will play 7v7 on the field. Games are on Saturdays at various diocesan school fields. Games are two 20- minute halves with a running clock. Practices can begin in late February. Registration fee is $60.
Golf
This sport is run by the diocese where individuals compete in tournaments held on four Sunday or Thursday afternoons in March and April. There are two divisions: (I-more competitive and II-competitive). Players will be placed in a division based on their skill level. Based on a player’s match score they could be moved between divisions. It is open to both boys and girls in the 6th-8th grades. More details are on the Golf page under Spring Sports. The registration fee is $100 to cover the rental costs for the golf course.
Cheerleading
This is a Saint Rose sport offered to 3-8 graders who want to learn the sport of cheerleading and age-appropriate stunts. The Cheer coaches will identify opportunities to cheer at a number of our spring sports, as well as, at school pep rallies. The registration fee is $60 for the season. Those cheerleaders who registered in Fall or Winter will be assessed a $25 fee if already paid. This fee helps cover the costs of uniforms, etc.
Spring Track
This program is now run by the Diocesan Athletic Council (DAC) with help from Father Ryan and Saint Cecilia Academy. We will have three meets are held at those schools (2 at Father Ryan) on Wednesdays. The DAC decided to scale back the grades to 5-8 grades to make it manageable for this first year.
Athletes can choose to compete in the following events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1600m. We are also considering the long jump and possibly a coed relay. Practices will be organized by a Saint Rose coach and can begin in late February. The registration fee is $60.
Nashville Catholic Touch Coed Rugby
This is a brand-new coed sport opportunity lead by the Nashville Catholic Rugby League to serve as an introductory sport. It is intended to help athletes learn the sport of rugby, through a touch, not tackle, program. No experience is needed. In addition, the league will provide an experienced coach. For the most part, teams will learn the sport during a one-hour practice right before playing a match.
To make a team, we need a minimum of 7 boys or girls. The divisions are: 1-3, 4-6, and 7-8 grades. Because this season runs earlier than the other spring sports, parents need to register now, so we can know if and how many teams we will have representing Saint Rose. The season will begin with a jamboree on February 21 at Father Ryan and will have 4 match days from February 28-April 11. The registration fee will be $60. More details to come.
