Extracurricular Clubs & Activities
There are over 15 clubs and extracurricular activities for students at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic School to be involved in. They are scheduled throughout the school year to allow for each student to find and develop their own interest and talent.
Art Club
Art club this year is offered for students in grades 5th–8th. It features a different themed craft each month, using materials and techniques students don’t usually get to explore in class. It is a fun space to make unique projects and share the joy of creating with friends.
Book Club
Book Club is for students in grades 3rd–4th and is to encourage a love of reading by offering an enrichment experience to students.
Chess Club
We are excited to offer a chess club through the Knight School. The Knight School will bring trained chess coaches each week to help the students develop their chess skills. Students will compete against each other, earning colored bands for moves learned. The club is open to students in K–8th grade and includes a Diocesan Chess Tournament in November.
Constellation Choir
An after-school choir for 5th–8th grade students who love to sing, grow musically, and be part of something special. Students build vocal technique, musical literacy, and ensemble skills while exploring a variety of repertoire. No prior experience required—just a passion for singing.
Cooking Club
8th grade students will learn the art of hosting a dinner party, including how to prepare food, set up, and clean up when entertaining friends.
Forensics
A competitive drama and public speaking club for grades 5–8. Students prepare and perform selected pieces for different events, developing confidence and poise while competing against students from other diocesan schools.
Little Flowers
A club for girls in grades 1st–3rd. They learn about virtues, faith, and Catholic traditions through the lives of female Saints, beginning with Saint Therese of Lisieux, the “Little Flower.” The goal is to help the girls build virtuous character, friendships, and faith in a fun environment.
Math Club
For students in grades 1st–3rd who enjoy playing fun math games while strengthening their skills with engaging activities centered on mathematical concepts.
National Junior Honor Society
An invitation-only society for 7th and 8th graders, based on first-quarter grades. Students meet monthly during recess, complete service hours, and receive invitations in October.
Student Council
A service group whose mission is to serve the students of Saint Rose School through many events. Class representatives and officers are elected from grades 5th–8th.
Author’s Club
A special club to spark creativity, grow writing confidence, and give students in grades 2nd–4th the experience of becoming published authors.
Board Game Club
For students in grades 3rd–4th. Members play classic and new board games, practicing turn-taking, strategy, and teamwork while building friendships and having fun.
Latin American Dance Club
Students in grades 1st–6th learn Latin American dance rhythms, practice Spanish, and have opportunities to perform at school and community events.
Science Olympiad
A competitive team of 7th and 8th graders that covers all areas of science—biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and more. Students develop teamwork, problem-solving, and compete in a regional tournament at MTSU, with hopes of qualifying for state competition.
Safety Squad
For grades 5th–8th. Students assist with morning and afternoon carline by opening and closing doors, greeting families, and helping younger students enter school safely.
Saint Rose Ambassadors
Students in grades 6th–8th assist administration with special events, new family orientations, and tours. The program builds teamwork and leadership skills.
Battle of the Books
A diocesan reading incentive program for grades 5th–8th. Students read from a selected list, practice answering questions, and compete in a quiz-style tournament against other schools. The program promotes teamwork, critical thinking, and a love of reading.
