Tennis is offered through two separate youth programs for Saint Rose parishioners. One is conducted by the Nashville Catholic Tennis league and the other is organized by MTSU.
Nashville Catholic Tennis League
This program is a Diocesan coordinated clinic for K-8 grade students. They are normally on Saturday mornings for 3-4 weeks in April and again in the Fall (September-October). Dates and locations are determined as we get close to each season. The registration fee is $30.00 per season. A separate registration with Nashville Catholic Tennis is needed and is available during the registration period for each season. The program is divided into two programs:
- Beginners interested in learning more about tennis will meet for clinic and instruction. Coaches will work on proper stroke production, rallies through games, serves and keeping score. Typically 1 ½ hours per session.
- Players ready for match play. The goal is for each player to play a minimum set of singles and doubles. Usually follows the instructional program mentioned above.
Players ready for match play actually participate in both seasons earning points for individual and school/church rankings.
MTSU Tennis Clinics
Clinics are normally for one hour on Wednesdays starting at 5:00pm at the MTSU tennis courts. They normally have seven sessions, as well as, three make-up dates. This program is for beginners and intermediate players. Sessions will begin in late March and end in early May. The cost is $70.00.
